Ostomy Pride
Well, I've never written two posts in one day but as I was sitting here studying for a test I have on Monday, I came across this picture of a sexy lady with an ostomy.

i don't get it

ReplyDeletehow have they not been able to replicate a sphincter? i mean, couldn't you put something like a clothespin to let the thing accumulate and open when you want to?
I know it sounds absolutely stupid but that's my serious question.
soooo, most ostomies empty without any control from the patient. you could be anywhere and gas or stool will just start coming out into the bag. one reason i think the clothespin idea would not work is that your bowels could rupture if not allowed to drain out as needed. yikes! i'm not sure though, i don't know that much about these things...
